December 18, 2025: CHRISTMAS LUNCHEON. Turkey, Ham, Corn Bread and a variety of covered dishes and desserts. Members are encouraged to bring a covered dish, or dessert. There will be no charge for the Christmas lunch due to several generous donations.

Looking Back on October 2025 — Liberty Hill Over The Hill Gang

The Over The Hill Gang greeted the month of October by announcing a Halloween costume contest scheduled for the end of the month. Each member were encouraged to wear an unusual costume where it would be determined who would win first, second and third place prizes. We ended the month with a large number of great Halloween costumes. It was a very enjoyable and entertaining event.

During the month we also welcomed the following visitors, Mary, Tina, Robert, Roseann, Jim, Cynthia, Mike, David and Shane. We had an average attendance of 52 individuals with over 285 meals served. In addition, on October 4th we sang Happy Birthday to Kathy, Diane, Paul, Odena, Jeri, Marilyn and Mickie.

Many thanks to Gary for furnishing his biscuits, sausage and gravy breakfast on October 7th. In addition, Gary also provided the October history lesson regarding the contributions Mel Fowler made in regard to the development of the City of Liberty Hill.

October activities were as follows: The Yak and Yarn group met (Oct. 14 & 28), at 11:00 a.m. The morning social group met every Tuesday and Thursday mornings. The Canasta Card group and the Women’s Bible study met every Wednesday. The Thursday luncheon continue to meet every Thursday at 11:30 a.m . followed by various games.

I wish I was the person my dog thinks I am. Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter. Never let yesterday use up too much of today. If we’re not meant to have midnight snacks, why is there a light in the fridge? Whoever said that money can’t buy happiness, simply didn’t know where to go shopping.

Looking Back on September 2025 — Liberty Hill Over The Hill Gang

September started off by celebrating Labor Day with an Ice Cream and Hot Dog social . The social was originally planned for the few individuals that did not have any plans for celebrating Labor Day. However, far more gang members participated that expected. A total of 49 individuals joined for lots of fun and fellowship. Ice cream was served along with hot days and chips. It was fun to watch gang members add the extra enhancements to their ice cream such as colored sprinkles, chocolate crust, mini marshmallows, nuts, cherries, whip cream, etc… In addition, Root Beer floats were available as well.

On September 4th. we sang Happy Birthday to the following individuals: Gayle, Robert, Diane, Valerie, Lorraine, Shirley and Jim. The Over The Hill Gang welcomed 11 visitors during the month. We had an average attendance of 50 members with over 233 meals served.

September activities were as follows: The Yak and Yarn group met every other Tuesday, while the morning social group met every Tuesday and Thursday mornings. In addition, the Canasta Card group and women’s Bible study continued to met every. Wednesday morning. As well as our Wednesday evening Bible Study and our Thursday luncheon and games.

Many thanks to Steve Tetro for his presentation regarding Medicare and Medicaid. In addition, many thanks to Gary Spivey for his history presentation regarding James Vaughn, as well as for the morning biscuit and gravy breakfast on September 2nd.

Looking B ack on August 2025 — Liberty Hill Over The Hill Gang

The Over The Hill Gang (OTHG), started the month of August by welcoming the following visitors, Barb, Stan, Terri, Audra, Ursula and Del to our group. We sang “Happy Birthday” to 12 OTHG members. The center had an average attendance of 48 individuals with over 250 meals served for the month.

Many thanks goes out to all those who helped out each week regarding our luncheons. In addition, thank you to Gary for the August 5th. Biscuits and gravy breakfast. Gary provides a biscuit and gravy breakfast every first Tuesday of each month. We also thank Gary for his monthly history presentation provided every third Thursday of each month. Gary’s presentation for August was the history regarding Seward Junction.

OTHG activities scheduled for the month of September are as follows: Tuesdays — Coffee social at 8:00 a.m. Yak & Yarn group meet every other Tuesday (Sept. 2, 16 & 30) at 11:00 a.m. Biscuits and gravy breakfast provided on September 2nd. at 8:00 a.m. Wednesdays– Canasta card group at 10:00 a.m. Women’s Bible Study at 11:00 a.m. Evening Bible Study at 6:00 p.m. Thursdays — Coffee social at 8:00a.m. Our weekly luncheon at 11:30 a.m. followed by various games. Looking Back on July 2025 Liberty Hill Over The Hill Gang

July started off with a big bang by welcoming the Liberty Hill Mayor, Mayor Crystal Mancilla and City Manager, Mr. Paul Brandenburg for lunch on July 3rd. This gave them the opportunity to see who we are and to visit with a number of the Over The Hill Gang (OTHG), members. We also acknowledged and sang Happy Birthday to nine individuals. The OTHG center had an average attendance of 49 individuals with over 255 meals served for the month. We also welcomed six visitors who joined us for lunch and various games.

Many thanks goes out to several of the board members who devoted several hours deep cleaning our kitchen and our two refrigerators. In addition, many thanks to all those who help out each week regarding our luncheons. Our July 3rd. Tuesday morning social was a great success with Gary serving biscuits and sausage gravy to the morning group. Gary provides a biscuits and sausage gravy breakfast every first Tuesday of each month. We also thank
Gary for his outstanding 30 miniute “Electrifying Liberty Hill” presentation on July 17th.

Looking Back on June 2025 – Liberty Hill Over The Hill Gang

Gang members in June started off by celebrating and singing Happy Birthday to three Over The Hill Gang (OTHG), members. The OTHG Center had an average attendance of 52 individuals with over 225 meals served for the month of June. We also welcomed six visitors who joined us for lunch as well.

Our thanks goes out to the many volunteers that help out each week with helping prepare the food, serving the food, washing the dishes and an overall cleanup, plus the many outstanding desserts provided as well. In addition, many thanks to Gary Spivey for providing a wonderful breakfast on June 3rd. for the Tuesday morning social group. Gary also provided an excellent 30 minute overview regarding the “Silent Hero’s of liberty Hill”. Gary provides a monthly history lesson each 3rd. Thursday each month at the OTHG Center at 11:00 a.m.

The OTHG conducted it’s annual board elections on June 19th. All six board members were reelected to serve for another year. 2025/2026 board members are as follows; Joy Evens, Director – Janet Ross, Director – Mickie Galarza, Treasure – Merle Rouillard, Secretary – Charlie Azares, Vice President and Mike Rutherford, President. It has been a great year. Many thanks to the board for their outstanding team work and for providing more and still staying within our budget. in addition, we are most thankful for our wonderful OTHG members for their great support and participation each week. We continue to maintain a positive, fun and enjoyable atmosphere.
