On New Year’s Day, January 1, 2026 the Over The Hill Gang celebrated by having a barbecue lunch catered by RJ Roasting along with many wonderful sides dishes and a lot of desserts. Many thanks to the generous donations which made the catering possible. In addition, we welcomed back Ella and Tom, (Mr. and Mrs. Claus), from their recent visit to the North Pole. Tom serves as Santa Claus at Lakeline Mall for approximately six weeks before Christmas. Welcome back Ella and Tom!
Many thanks to Gary Spivey for providing the biscuits, sausage and gravy breakfast on January 6th. Gary provides breakfast every first Tuesday morning for the morning social group at 8:00 a.m. each month. In addition, another thanks goes out to Gary for his monthly history presentation which he provides every third Thursday of each month at 11:00 a.m. January’s history presentation was about the history of the “North San Gabriel Bridge at Gabriel Mills”.

**** January Thoughts****
Today is the first page of a 365 page book. Write a good one. My phone battery lasts longer than my New Year’s resolution. You know you’re getting older when you stoop to tie your shoelaces and wonder what else you could do while you’re down there. One benefit of getting older is that your secrets are always safe with your friends – because they can’t remember them anyway. When I say, “The other day,” I could be referring to any time between yesterday and 15 years ago.
The Over The Hill Gang Inc. is an organization for those over 50 years old. You are welcome to join us. Membership is free. Thursday lunch is for a $ 7 donation to cover expenses.
