The Over The Hill Gang greeted the month of October by announcing a Halloween costume contest scheduled for the end of the month. Each member were encouraged to wear an unusual costume where it would be determined who would win first, second and third place prizes. We ended the month with a large number of great Halloween costumes. It was a very enjoyable and entertaining event.
During the month we also welcomed the following visitors, Mary, Tina, Robert, Roseann, Jim, Cynthia, Mike, David and Shane. We had an average attendance of 52 individuals with over 285 meals served. In addition, on October 4th we sang Happy Birthday to Kathy, Diane, Paul, Odena, Jeri, Marilyn and Mickie.
Many thanks to Gary for furnishing his biscuits, sausage and gravy breakfast on October 7th. In addition, Gary also provided the October history lesson regarding the contributions Mel Fowler made in regard to the development of the City of Liberty Hill.
October activities were as follows: The Yak and Yarn group met (Oct. 14 & 28), at 11:00 a.m. The morning social group met every Tuesday and Thursday mornings. The Canasta Card group and the Women’s Bible study met every Wednesday. The Thursday luncheon continue to meet every Thursday at 11:30 a.m . followed by various games.
***** October Thoughts *****
I wish I was the person my dog thinks I am. Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter. Never let yesterday use up too much of today. If we’re not meant to have midnight snacks, why is there a light in the fridge? Whoever said that money can’t buy happiness, simply didn’t know where to go shopping.
The Over The Hill Gang Inc. is an organization for those over 50 years old. You are welcome to join us. Membership is free. Thursday lunch is for a $ 7 donation to cover expenses.
