•OTHG 06/09/2022We have a lot of business to take care of so let’s get started.
Name tags
Everybody introduce yourselves and say how long you’ve been a member. Stand, if you are able. Starting at (this table).
Do you know of Anyone sick or Hospitalized or that could use a greetting card sent to them? We’ll have a pad where you can give their name, address, and a brief note for them and we will send a card in the mail.
We would like to be able to send email notices in case of last minute changes or emergencies. If you are willing, please add your email behind your name when signing in.
Would y’all be interested in Friday night pot luck and game night? Maybe once a month? Or possibly a different night? We would like to expand the club to those who have jobs or other obligations on Thursday during the day. We want to make more use of this facility.
Speaking of which, I received this from Denice Hunt, ‘Hello Tom, I wanted to find out if your group would be interested in doing a fitness class? I specialize in teaching folks over 65″ – I replied that i’d ask. I also said that since we are meeting in a city owned building, it would have to be free or donation only.
If there is an interest, we could set another day of the week. by a show of hands – is there any interest?
Our bylaws require semiannual meetings in June and December. These meetings are for elections of officers and directors. All offices are for a one year term. Any member may nominate themselves or other member for any of all positions. Every registered member has a single vote. Registered means that the secretary has you name on the roll. Members must be at least 50 and live in the Liberty Hill Area. The by laws state that voting takes place on the 3rd Saturday of June. Rather than requiring members to come on a Saturday, with your permission, I suggest that such voting take place this year on Thursday, June 23rd. Will anyone second that? Any objections or discussion? Will all in favor signify by saying I? All apposed say I?
Nominations may be posted on the board by anyone. Currently we are without a vice president.
The cleaning company will be at the OTHG building to clean carpets on this afternoon at 3PM. So Please, Clean your table and put chairs up when you’re done. Thank you.
Joke:
I have some thoughts about reaching this age of … uh … maturity. Yeah that’s it … maturity.
We finally understand that being over the hill … beats being planted under it.
Our idea of a hot time is … putting a heating pad on our bad back.
We and our teeth have decided that a separation is the best thing for our relationship.
Getting high means it’s time to take our blood pressure medication.
And finally. We can now trust our friends more. … Because we can’t even remember each other’s names, let alone each other’s deepest secrets!
Let’s pray.
O Gracious God, we give you thanks for your overflowing generosity to us.
Thank you for the blessings of the food we daily eat and especially for this feast today.
Thank you for our home, family, and friends, especially for the presence of those gathered here.
Thank you for our health, our work and our play.
Please send help to those who are hungry, alone, sick, and suffering war and violence.
Forgive our shortcomings.
Open our hearts to your love.
We ask your blessing through Jesus your son. Amen.
Let’s eat. Those who need assistance go first.

Check out the cleaned carpet and freshly washed windows courtesy of the city.
Speaking of the city … I received this text from Mayor Liz Brannigin:. The county is asking to use the building for the Nov election. I will try to find an alternate. Thanks, Liz
There isn’t anything that we can do about it. So, this is just to give you information. If it comes to this we may check with some of the local churches. Perhaps they could host us for however many Thursdays in November.
If you haven’t already, get a Name tag. Put your name and the number of years you’ve been a member.
Everybody introduce yourselves and say how long you’ve been a member. Stand, if you are able. Starting at (this table).
As I announced last week, We would like to be able to send email notices in case of last minute changes or emergencies. If you are willing, please add your email behind your name when signing in.
Last week I asked if y’all would be interested in Friday night pot luck and game night. There was positive feedback so we’re going to go ahead with it. It will be the first Friday of every month from seven to nine. This begins in July on the first. Bring an entree to share and a salad or dessert.
Voting for the club officers will be next Thursday. Remember, you may add your name or someone else by simply writing the name on the white board.

Joke: A blind man walks into a bar. He sits down at the bar and the female bartender walks up and asks what he wants.
He orders a beer and asks the bartender if she wants to hear a blonde joke?
She says “Hold on buddy. You clearly are not aware, but I’m a body builder and I’m a blonde, the woman you’re sitting next to is a tenth degree black belt and a blonde, and the bouncer behind you is a mixed marshall arts fighter and he’s blonde. You sure you still want to tell this joke?”
The blind man says “Nah, forget it. I don’t want to have to explain it that many times.”
Let’s pray.
O Gracious God, we give you thanks for your overflowing generosity to us.

• OTHG 06/30/2022I’m so glad to see y’all. Last Thursday kinda became the perfect storm as all the dark clouds lined up. Tuesday, we shopped for the groceries and brought them to the OTHG building.
That’s when we discovered the lack of air conditioning.
Then I got sick
Then Ella got sick.
I asked Merel to cover for me and found out she was also sick.
So we had to suspend for last week. I posted messaged on all of the Liberty Hill Facebook pages and Merel posted signs on the doors. I sent email messages to those few who had previously shared their email addresses with us. How many knew last week that we were closed … before arriving to a locked building?
And that brings me to the next topic. If we had everyone’s email address, we could have quickly sent a message and avoided people arriving to find we were closed.
Please. Please. Add your email behind your name on the sign in sheet. Please print both your name and email
On a brighter note: Have you noticed the newly cleaned carpet and freshly washed windows courtesy of the city?
The city was also notified about the air conditioner last Tuesday and have it running for us today.
Speaking of the city … I received this text from Mayor Liz Brannigin:. The county is asking to use the building for the November election. I will try to find an alternate. Thanks, Liz

Last week ( oops 2 weeks ago) I asked if y’all would be interested in Friday night pot luck and game night. There was positive feedback so we’re going to go ahead with it. It will be the FIRST Friday of every month from seven to nine. This begins in July on the first. Bring an entree to share and a salad or dessert. This was also posted on social media. And if you would let people know on your Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, telephone, telegraph, telegram, tell a woman, tell a man, or whatever system you use to get the message out that we not only meet every Thursday for food, fellowship, and fun at 10:30 A.M. We now have fun and games on first Fridays with a potluck from 7 to 9.
Voting for the club officers will be after today’s meal. Do please don’t eat and run.. Remember, you may add your name or someone else by simply writing the name on the white board.
