June 29, 2022 Board Meeting

Board meeting of Over the Hill Gang Wednesday, June 29, 2022

All board members were present: President Tom Williams, VP Jannett Thornburg, secretary Merle Rouillard, treasurer Janet Ross, directors Ella Williams and Monica Moser. The minutes from the last board meeting on May 27, 2022, and the last general meeting on June 23, 2022, were read and corrected.

Tom will inquire about owning a website for OTHG.

On the first Friday of each month there will be a potluck at OTHG, dinner and games, 7 to 9 pm.

Each board member should have a key to the back door. Merle will have keys made for Janet Ross, Jannett Thornburg, and Monica Moser.

The treasurer’s report was given by Janet and is attached to these minutes. We have $6,781.10 in the bank.

The duties of the officers were read by Tom from the OTHG By Laws that were last amended, to our knowledge, on June 15, 2002. There were no duties mentioned for the directors.

Tom amended the following By Laws: #1: Saturday meetings will no longer be held. #2: Instead of publishing OTHG news in the weekly newspaper that no longer exists, news will be given to the members via phone, email, OTHG website, social media, and/or mailings.

Tom pointed out that there is a folder in the kitchen with instructions for the meals. On the first Thursday of the month fried chicken and fixin’s is usually served. July 14 will be beef stew, July 21 will be baked potatoes, and July 28 will be meat loaf. Tomorrow, June 30, we will celebrate Independence Day with hot dogs and the usual fixin’s. Terry Walker, operator of Our Village, graciously decorated the dining room for us to enjoy and we should be sure and show her our appreciation for this.

Everyone should be encouraged to help with clean up after meals, but not pressured.
