JOKE:
A minister decided to do something a little different one Sunday morning. He said ‘Today, in church, I am going to say a single word and you are going to help me preach.
Whatever single word I say, I want you to sing whatever hymn that comes to your mind’
The pastor shouted out ‘CROSS’. Immediately the congregation started singing in unison, ‘THE OLD RUGGED CROSS’
The pastor hollered out ‘GRACE’, The congregation began to sing ‘AMAZING GRACE’, how sweet the sound.’
The pastor said ‘POWER’, The congregation sang ‘THERE IS POWER IN THE BLOOD’.
The pastor said ‘SEX’ The congregation fell into total silence. Everyone was in shock. They all nervously began to look around at each other afraid to say anything.
Then all of a sudden, way from in the back of the church, A little old 87 year old grandmother stood up and began to sing‘PRECIOUS MEMORIES’.

PRAYER:
Heavenly Father we come before You with Praise and Thanksgiving for this opportunity to spend time with family and friends. We want NOT to forget the reason we celebrate Christmas because “Jesus is the reason for the season”!! We ask that You bless this food we received from thy bounty in Jesus name.
AMEN.

We had a great day today.
28 members, one new, attended.

It was our Christmas Pot Luck.
There was a wide variety of food,
everyone pitched in.

The gift exchange went fine.
It seemed as if everyone
had a good time.

There was bingo, 42, and
5 Crowns afterwards.

A little boy goes to his father and asks ” Daddy how was I born?” The father answers, “Well , son, I guess one day you will need to find out anyways!” Your Mom and I first got together in a chat room on Yahoo. Then I seet up a date via-e-mail with your Mom and we met at a cyber-cafe. We sneaked into a secluded room, where your mother agreed to a download from my hard drive. As soon as I was ready to upload, we discovered that neither one of us had used a firewall, and since it was too late to hit the delete button, nine months later a little Pop-Up appeared that said: “YOU GOT MALE”

PRAYER:  Father God we come to You with Praise and Thanksgiving and ask that You bless this food  we receive from thy boundy and bless the hands that prepared it. In JESUS name we pray.  AMEN.

JOKE: A husband in his back yard is trying to fly a kite. He throws the kite up in the air, the wind catches it for a few seconds, then it comes crashing back down to earth. He tries this a few more times with no success. All the while, his
wife is watching from the kitchen window, muttering to herself how men need to be told how to do everything. She opens the window and yells to her husband, ‘You need a piece of tail’ The man turns with a confused look on his face and says, ‘Make up your mind. Last night, you told me to go fly a kite!’

JOKE: Ducks in heaven

Three women die together in an accident and go to heaven, When they get there, St. Peter says, We only have one rule here in heaven: Don’t step on the ducks!

So they enter heaven, and sure enough, there are ducks all over the place. It is almost impossible not to step on a duck.

Although they try their best to avoid them, The first woman accidentally steps on one.Along comes St. Peter with the ugliest man she ever saw. St. Peter chains them together and says, Your punishment for stepping on a duck is to spend eternity chained to this ugly man!

The next day, the second woman steps accidentally on a duck And along comes St. Peter, who doesn’t miss a thing. With him is another ugly man. He chains them together with the same admonishment as for the first woman.

The third woman has observed all this and, not wanting to be chained for all eternity to an ugly man, is VERY careful where she steps, She manages to go months without stepping on any ducks, but one day St.Peter comes up to her with the most handsome man she has ever laid eyes on…. Very tall, long lashes, muscular, St.Peter chains then together without saying a word,

The happy woman says, I wonder what I did to deserve being chained to you for all eternity?? The guy says, I don’t know about you, but I stepped on a duck…

Prayer: Lord, we Thank you that we can gather together with family and friends to share in food , drink and enjoy time together. Bless our Veterans that are with us here today, and those around our nation, We thank them for their service because without them we would not to be to enjoy this beautiful country we live in! Bless this food, may it nourish us and the fellowship we share. Be with us always in our hearts, In Jesus name we pray. Amen

November’s First Friday Potluck

On the way into Liberty Hill the clouds opened up and tried to drown us. Well that’s a little melodramatic. But it did rain really hard.

I said to Ella, “I wonder how many will be there?” The answer was two: Ella and I were the only ones there. But we had plenty to eat. We had the leftovers from Thursday – chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy etcetera. Plus Ella made pumpkin bars and I had brought beef stew. The chicken I bagged and froze for some future use.
